End of Summer

So summer is over. I must confess I was really grateful for the last couple of weeks and the Indian summer we had. It gave me something warm to remember over the winter months - LOL - and something to look forward to when this winter is  over. It was a real suprise to us all, cause at the beginning of september, we were only looking towards a long cold winter. Then the heat came back sudenly. Just for a couple of weeks, but it was glorious. It made me made me reflect on the fact that seasons are not what man says they will be, but what God wants. Sometimes he brings unexpected Indian Summers into our lives, because he is a loving God. Just thought I'd share a couple of things here that I hope will brighten up your day and fill you with warm summer feelings as well. Stay happy and blessed whatever the weather.

1.WOMEN WHO KNOW THEIR PLACE
Barbara Walters, of 20/20, did a story on gender roles in Kabul ,
Afghanistan
, several years before the Afghan conflict.

She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their
husbands.

She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind
their husbands. Despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime,
the women now seem happy to maintain the old custom.

Ms Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked, 'Why do you
now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to
change?'

The woman looked Ms Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation
said, "Land mines."

Moral of the story is (no matter what language you speak or where you
go):

BEHIND EVERY MAN, THERE'S A SMART(ER) WOMAN
